The notion of a Freischnitt is borrowed from technical mechanics: the regard of things by imagining cutting through a body.
These pictures have been taken in a forest near my home. Here, we find worlds that were laid bare by acts of destruction. At the emerging interface of cut or broken trees we discover landscapes that remind of us of a post-apocalyptic version of the earth – wastelands full of scars, remnants, and only traces of their inhabitants.
